Dear Friends,

What a year 2020 has been. I hope you and your loved ones are safe and enjoying the holidays. I’m glad things are looking up with a COVID-19 vaccine, and I’m hopeful about 2021. I bring some news, and it’s important I share it with you.

I started TBCA three years ago because I believed that technology had the power to connect world-class consulting talent with growing businesses across the world. I felt that traditional consulting had its market, but there was potential for technology to be a catalyst for consulting for growing companies, especially in emerging markets.

In the last three years, it has been an exciting ride. We grew to over 500+ consultants hailing from 26 countries across the world. We have consultants who are alumni from all major global consulting firms, including McKinsey, Bain, and BCG. At TBCA, we held ourselves to incredibly high service standards. We had a wide range of projects featured on the platform, from Technology to Financial Services to Fundraising, and we have generated revenue in thousands of dollars.

Our first project was by an American ex-McKinsey Talent in Nairobi for a project in Nigeria, and our last project was carried out by a Nigeran female consultant based in Ireland. That gives me joy, and it’s been a rewarding experience to see a truly global service come out of a lean team of Nigerians.

This is why it is difficult for me to write this message to you. As of 31st December 2020, we will officially close TBCA and will no longer take additional projects. It has been an incredible journey, and I’ve personally learned a lot, working with the best independent consulting talents and companies towards creating value.

I need to mention a few people who are essential to this story. Thank you to everyone who ever worked with us at TBCA, making client and talent experience better through efficient communication and world-class customer service, a match for even larger companies. To all our independent consultants, TBCA literally wouldn’t exist without you. To our clients, thank you for your trust. To our supporters, advisors, and the LSETF team, especially Tosin Faniro-Dada, who supported TBCA with coworking resources. Thank you. To the entire Leadspace and HubOne/FCMB team, we worked in the same space as colleagues though of different companies; thank you for the memories.

What next? I am back at school ten years later. Yes — I started my MBA at the University of Oxford Saïd Business School this year, and I am excited about this new journey. Who knows? Maybe I’ll launch another startup and invite you all on the journey with me. Perhaps I will join an existing innovative company. Whatever it may be, I would love to stay in touch with you.

I’m on LinkedIn and Twitter, and if you ever want to send me a personal email, just reply to this email or send to j@rotilu.com

Onwards and Upwards, Happy New Year in Advance, and I hope to connect with you soon.

Best Wishes,

Jide Rotilu
